The East End of the WashU Danforth Campus

Sitting at the northeast corner of WashU's Danforth Campus for the McKelvey School of Engineering, new research laboratories and specialized facilities support the school's intellectual vision and plans.

Since 2000, WashU, the McKelvey School of Engineering and several generous donors have invested more than $250 million in new and renovated engineering space. With about half of the new engineering complex complete, the school plans to build another 350,000 square feet of space distributed through two or three new buildings.

Our newest buildings include Jubel Hall for Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science and James M. McKelvey, Sr. Hall. McKelvey Hall, located south of Preston M. Green Hall. McKelvey Hall houses the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and supports Washington University’s data science efforts.

Engineering buildings

Stephen F. & Camilla T. Brauer Hall

Brauer Hall

Brauer Hall is home to the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering, with space for the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Preston M. Green Hall

Green Hall is the third building in a new complex of engineering buildings at the northeast perimeter of the Danforth Campus, and is home to the Preston M. Green Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering.

Harold D. Jolley Hall

Jolley Hall includes research laboratories and offices for the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, and undergraduate teaching laboratories for the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science.

Henry A. and Elvira H. Jubel Hall

Jubel Hall, the new home of the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, is located near the intersection of Brookings Drive and Hoyt Drive.

Stanley & Lucy Lopata Hall

Home to Undergraduate Engineering Student Services, the Technology & Leadership Center and various Engineering classrooms, Lopata Hall is located near Olin Library on WashU's Danforth Campus.

James M. McKelvey, Sr. Hall

McKelvey Hall, located south of Green Hall, houses the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and support Washington University’s data science efforts.

Hugo & Ina Champ Urbauer Hall

Urbauer Hall has research laboratories and classrooms and is home to the Machine Shop and the Engineering Communication Center.

Uncas A. Whitaker Hall

Home to the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Whitaker Hall is located near the northeast corner of WashU's Danforth Campus.
