Brain Dynamics and Control Research Group with the Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering

Why did you pick Washington University in St. Louis?
I chose WashU because of the flexibility in its course and major options. I also really appreciated the sense of community provided by the professors, my fellow students and the Danforth Scholar Program, which I am a member of.

What was your favorite course and why?
My favorite course was ESE 105: Introduction to Electrical and Systems Engineering. The course was a challenging class with lots of flexibility on design projects while still teaching us the fundamentals of many of the focuses of the department. We were given the tools and freedom to explore what ESE meant to us.

Who is your favorite instructor and why?
Jim Feher is one of my favorite professors. He teaches his class with enthusiasm and encourages each and every student to explore how to solve a given problem in their own way.

What advice would you give to a new student?
Have fun! Don't take yourself too seriously. Step back and focus on why you are here: to learn!

What is your favorite thing about St. Louis?
There are lots of interesting neighborhoods to explore and a strong sense of community in the city.

What campus activities or groups would you recommend to a new student?
Thyrsus is a theatrical exploration group that is very relaxed and open-ended. Lots of fun even if you don't have a lot of time!

Are you presently in the workforce or have any work history? If yes, please describe.
I am currently a TA for CSE 131: Introduction to Computer Science.

What are your plans for the future?
I am still considering my plans, as I am only in my first year at WashU, but I look forward to taking advantage of the resources provided by the Career Center and other organizations on campus.
