Where did you complete your undergraduate degree?
Virginia Tech

What played into your decision to get a graduate engineering degree?
My undergraduate major is Computational Modeling and Data Analytics. I think I need more and deeper learning about data management to help me get better job opportunities in the future. Washu provides me with a great learning opportunity.

Why did you pick WashU?
First of all, I considered that Washu is a very reputable university, and the MISM major is exactly the direction I want to study. Some of the courses here are related to what I studied during my undergraduate studies, and I think I can complete these courses better. For those courses that I am not familiar with, I am willing to focus more on studying. I think it was my motivation to study that encouraged me to choose Washu.

What is your favorite thing about St. Louis?
First of all, St. Louis is a big city to me. I spent the past four years of my undergraduate studies in a small, quiet town. There are many interesting museums to visit in St. Louis. And I like sports very much. The professional baseball team, ice hockey team, and football team in St. Louis attracted me.

What advice would you give to a new student?
The best advice I would give is if you choose to come to Washu for graduate studies, don't spend all your time studying. Try to do something you like, such as traveling or doing an internship. Or get to know more friends, which will be helpful in your current life and the future. Learning and enjoying life are both important.

What campus activities or groups would you recommend to a new student?
I really like Washu intramural sport competition. My friends and I participated in the intramural soccer competition last semester. I thought it was very interesting and a good opportunity to exercise.

What are your plans for the future?
I hope to find a job related to data consulting or big data analysis in the United States after graduation. I will also look for a job in China that suits me. Once I find a better job opportunity I will consider staying in the United States or not.
