Netanel Raviv develops mathematical methods rooted in coding and information theory for problems in security and privacy, distributed computing, machine learning, neural computation, dynamical systems, and related areas. His work emphasizes algorithms and constructions with rigorous mathematical guarantees on correctness, efficiency, reliability, privacy, and security.
Biography
Netanel Raviv is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis. He joined Washington University in 2019 from the California Institute of Technology, where he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tel Aviv University. His research is supported by awards from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). During his PhD, he held research internships and visiting research appointments at IBM, Microsoft, MIT, and the University of Toronto. He received the IBM PhD Fellowship and the Feder Family Prize for outstanding student research in communication technology.
