Biography
Professor Li joined Washington University in St. Louis in 2022. Prior to that, he served on the faculty at the University of Kansas (2014–2022) and held a career-track position as a Senior Scientific Engineering Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (2012–2014). He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 2012.
Research
His research centers on transport phenomena in porous media and their transformative applications in energy systems including metal–air batteries, fuel cells, thermal management, metal recovery, advanced manufacture, and AI-driven design and discovery.
