Ling receives Living Earth Collaborative grant
Fangqiong Ling has received a grant from the Living Earth Collaborative to study how the gut microbiome in freshwater fish influences their diversity
Fangqiong Ling, assistant professor of energy, environmental & chemical engineering, has received a grant from Washington University's Living Earth Collaborative. The grants support collaborative activities that support its mission to advance knowledge of biodiversity to ensure the future of Earth's species.
The grant will fund a collaboration with Jason Knouft, professor of biology at Saint Louis University, to study into whether the gut microbiome in freshwater fish contributes to the regulation of patterns of abundance and species diversity in local fish assemblages in the Meramec River watershed in southeastern Missouri.
