Hu selected to serve on Center for Scientific Review study section

Song Hu, an associate professor of biomedical engineering, has been named a standing member of the Imaging Technology Development Study Section with the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Center of Scientific Review.

“It is a true honor to serve on the Imaging Technology Development Study Section,” Hu said. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help identify the most meritorious science for funding with my expertise in the development and application of biomedical imaging technologies.”
 
Hu was recognized for his "demonstrated competence and achievement in his scientific discipline." His research focuses on developing cutting-edge optical and photoacoustic technologies for high-resolution imaging and its applications in neurovascular disorders, cardiovascular diseases, regenerative medicine and cancer.
 
As a member of the study section, Hu will have the opportunity to contribute to the nation's biomedical research effort through the NIH. The study section reviews grant applications, makes recommendations to the advisory boards and oversees research in the field.
