McDuffie named AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow
Erin McDuffie, a visiting research associate in the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering, has been chosen as an AAAS Science & Policy Fellow
Erin McDuffie, a visiting research associate in the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering in the McKelvey School of Engineering, has received a prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology Policy Fellowship.
McDuffie, who conducts research in the lab of Randall Martin, professor of energy, environmental & chemical engineering, will spend one year in the Climate Policy Branch at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She is one of 284 scientists and engineers in the 2020-2021 class are sponsored by AAAS and partner societies to work among 17 federal agencies and congressional offices. More than 3,400 fellows have participated in the program since its inception in 1973.
McDuffie also holds a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her joint research at both Dalhousie and Washington University in St. Louis has focused on identifying the surface-emission sources that contribute to air pollution in populated regions worldwide.
