Computer science faculty, students recognized for outstanding papers at IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium
Chenyang Lu, Roch Guerin, Sanjoy Baruah, Ning Zhang recognized for research
Four faculty members and their students from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis have been given Outstanding Paper Awards at the IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium in Taipei, Taiwan, Dec. 5-8, 2023.
McKelvey Engineering faculty received two of the four Outstanding Paper Awards given.
Sanjoy Baruah, Hugo F. & Ina Champ Urbauer Professor, and Ning Zhang, assistant professor, and first author Ao Li, a doctoral student in Zhang’s lab, were given the award for their paper “Who’s Afraid of Butterflies? A Close Examination of the Butterfly Attack.”
Chenyang Lu, the Fullgraf Professor, and Roch Guérin, chair and the Harold B. & Adelaide G. Welge Professor, along with first author Ruiqi Wang, a doctoral student in Lu’s lab, received the award for their paper “Progressive Neural Compression for Adaptive Image Offloading under Timing Constraints.” The paper also received the Best Student Paper Award.
Earlier this year, Lu received the Distinguished Paper Award of the Proceedings of the ACM on Interactive, Mobile, Wearable and Ubiquitous Technologies and a Best Paper Award at the ACM/IEEE Conference on Internet of Things Design and Implementation. Zhang received the Best Paper Award and the Distinguished Paper Award from the 53rd Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks.
