Huebsch a co-investigator on NIH National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute grant
Huebsch developed the unique ‘micro-heart’ technology platform used in the project
Sharon Cresci, MD, associate professor of medicine and of genetics in the Cardiovascular Division of the Department of Medicine at the School of Medicine and associate director of the WashU Barnes-Jewish Hospital Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center, recently received a five-year grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. The grant is titled “Determining Potential Mechanisms of Worse Outcomes in Black HCM Patients.”
She will work with co-investigators Nate Huebsch, assistant professor of biomedical engineering in the McKelvey School of Engineering; Mike Province, professor and director of the Division of Statistical Genetics in the Department of Genetics; and Anjali Owens, MD, associate professor of medicine at University of Pennsylvania.
