Christopher Chivetta Christopher Chivetta is the President of Hastings & Chivetta Architects, Inc., and Managing Partner of 8760 Engineering LLC, a firm specializing in energy conservation and sustainable design. |
Mr. Chivetta began his career at McClure Engineering Associates in 1984 and joined Turley Martin Company in 1990. In 1991, he joined the family business, Hastings & Chivetta Architects, with a focus to expand the firm's role in the design and construction of campus facilities and especially science, engineering and advanced technology facilities.
Today, as President of Hastings & Chivetta, Mr. Chivetta is credited with expanding the firm's national reputation and design studios to meet the needs of educational clients. Projects have focused on sustainable design and the firm has completed 13 projects that are LEED registered and certified.
In 2000, he received the Young Alumni Award from the School of Engineering & Applied Science. Currently, he is President of the School's Alumni Advisory Council and is a member of the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace & Structural Engineering's advisory board.
Mr. Chivetta and his wife Anne, (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, 1984; Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, 1984), fund an Engineering undergraduate student scholarship. Mr. and Mrs. Chivetta live in St. Louis with their three children.

Janet Holloway Janet Holloway is Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff for Monsanto Company, managing the office of the Chairman and CEO. She also provides executive oversight for Monsanto's community relations activities, corporate facilities and business services. Ms. Holloway is a 26-year veteran of the company and has held a variety of positions within the information technology group and across the organization, including serving as Chief Information Officer. She also spent six years as a Staff Research Associate at Washington University in St. Louis's Center for Air Pollution Impact and Trend Analysis. |
Ms. Holloway holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Augusta College in Augusta, Georgia, and a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics & Computer Science. In 2000, Ms. Holloway was named one of the St. Louis Business Journal's 25 Most Influential Women in Business. She is a 2003 graduate of Leadership St. Louis, and was also named a YWCA Leader of Distinction in 2006.
She currently serves on the boards of United Way of Greater St. Louis, St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association and the St. Louis Community College Foundation. In addition to her services as a member of the School of Engineering & Applied Science's National Council, Ms. Holloway also supports the James M. McKelvey Undergraduate Research Scholars Program.

Marija Ilic Dr. Marija Ilic is currently a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University with a joint appointment in the Electrical & Computer Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy departments. She is also the Honorary Chaired Professor for Control of Future Electricity Network Operations at Delft University of Technology in Delft, The Netherlands. |
From 1987 to 2002, Dr. Ilic was a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to her position at MIT, she was a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an Assistant Professor at Cornell University.
Dr. Ilic has 30 years of experience in teaching and research in the area of electrical power system modeling and control. Her main interest is in the systems aspects of operations, planning and economics of the electric power industry. She has co-authored several books in her field of interest and is an IEEE Fellow. Dr. Ilic earned a Diplomingenieur in Electrical Engineering at University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia.

Panganamala Ramana Kumar Dr. P. R. Kumar obtained his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) from I.I.T. Madras in 1973, and was awarded a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa, by Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule, Zurich, in 2008. |
From 1977 to 1984, he was a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Since 1985, he has been at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is currently Franklin W. Woeltge Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Research Professor in the Coordinated Science Laboratory, Information Trust Institute Research Professor, and Affiliate Professor of Computer Science.
Dr. Kumar has worked on problems in game theory, adaptive control, neural networks, machine learning, queuing networks and manufacturing systems. His current research interests are in wireless networks, sensor networks and networked embedded control systems.
Dr. Kumar is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the IEEE, and the recipient of the Donald P. Eckman Award of the American Automatic Control Council, the IEEE Field Award and the Fred W. Ellersick Prize of the IEEE Communications Society. Dr. Kumar also holds a Guest Chair Professorship at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

Zachary J. Lemnios The Honorable Zachary J. Lemnios was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 19, 2009, and sworn in as Director, Defense Research and Engineering on July 2, 2009. |
Mr. Lemnios is the Principal Staff Advisor for Research and Engineering Matters to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics and the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense. In this capacity, Mr. Lemnios serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the Department of Defense charged with the development and oversight of the Department's technology strategy in concert with current and future requirements. The goal of his position is to extend the capabilities of current war fighting systems, develop breakthrough capabilities, hedge against an uncertain future through a set of scientific and engineering options and counter strategic surprise.
Previously, Mr. Lemnios was the Chief Technology Officer of MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He also served as Assistant Division Head of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Solid State Division, as a member of the Laboratory's Senior Management Council and as the Co-Chair of the Laboratory's New Technology Initiative (NTI) Board.
Within industry, Mr. Lemnios has held various positions at Hughes Aircraft Company, Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Ford Microelectronics, Inc.
The author of over 40 papers, Mr. Lemnios holds four patents in advanced GaAs device and MMIC technology, and he is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

William Eatherton In 2000, William Eatherton joined Growth Networks, a startup company founded by Jerome Cox, Guru Parulkar and Jonathan Turner. The company was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2000, and Mr. Eatherton became part of the team that developed what later became the CRS-1 as a Line Card Architect. In recognition of his outstanding performance on the CRS-1 project, he became a Cisco Distinguished Engineer in 2005. |
Prior to his current role at Cisco Systems, Mr. Eatherton served as Director for Quantum Flow Processor Software Development, where he managed an 80-person software development team. He is presently the Director of Software Development, where he leads a team of more than 200 people for full development of ASR 1000 router development.
Mr. Eatherton earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1995. His technical innovations have earned him 19 patents, many before the age of 30. He was a member of the Program Committee for Hot Chips in 2008 and of the Program Committee for the ACM/IEEE Symposium on Architectures for Networking and Communications (ANCS) in 2007 and 2008. He served as the Program Co-Chair for ANCS in 2006.
He lives in Silicon Valley with his wife, Michaelle, and their three children.

Jack Bodine Jack R. Bodine retired in 1990 as Executive Vice President and co-owner of Bodine Aluminum, Inc., a manufacturer of sand and permanent mold aluminum castings headquartered in St. Louis. His leadership with Bodine Aluminum for over four decades contributed significantly to the company's position as a leader in its market. |
Mr. Bodine's activity in the professional community has been extensive, including involvement and leadership roles in the St. Louis chapters of the Non-Ferrous Founders' Society, the American Foundrymen's Society and the American Association of Industrial Management. He is also past President of the National Non-Ferrous Founders' Society, the Cast Metals Institute and the American Foundrymen's Society Research Board. He is a past national trustee of the Foundry Educational Foundation.
A long time devoted member of the Washington University School of Engineering & Applied Science Alumni Advisory Council, Mr. Bodine served as President in 1996. A life member of the William Greenleaf Eliot Society and sponsor of a term-endowed scholarship, he also is an active member of the School's National Council and scholarship committees. He served as reunion gift chair for his 40th, 45th and 60th reunions and is a past member of the University's Alumni Board of Governors.
Mr. Bodine and his wife, Mary Jane, reside in St. Louis.
