Engineering Communication Center (ECC)
Our faculty offer coursework to prepare students for careers in engineering. We are dedicated to both their professional development and social/environmental awareness so they can contribute their problem-solving strengths to real world challenges.
Community engaged courses move online
Engineers in the Community has been exceptionally popular, and, as students describe it, “transformative.” The course will transition from a “community connected” course to a “community engaged” course.
To schedule an appointment with Jim Ballard, please email ballard@wustl.edu.
If you do not see a time available on our schedules above please email us at ecc@wustl.edu, and we will do our best to find a mutually agreeable time.
Engineering Communication Center Updates
Teaching Professor Seema Dahlheimer became the new Director of the Engineering Communication Center on July 1, 2024. She is ready for this role after six years as the assistant director and nearly three years working in the Provost's office. We welcome her leadership and fresh perspective!
Senior Lecturer Sandra Matteucci, former Director of the Engineering Communication Center from July 2014 to June 2024, will be reassessing graduate programming needs, especially in light of Jim Ballard’s retirement from the center in June. Sandra will be meeting with engineering faculty and graduate students to offer custom workshops and writing appointments. In the upcoming months, she will be reaching out to department heads and interested faculty to facilitate a smooth transition and build programmatic support.
