Where did you complete your undergraduate degree?
Ohio Wesleyan University
Please provide your lab and a description of research.
I'm not part of any lab or research project, yet.
What played into your decision to get a graduate degree?
My increasing interest in neuroscience, specifically memory affecting neurodegenerative diseases, and fascination towards AI and ML motivated me to pursue a master's degree with a research focus on applying AI in a neuroscience context.
Why did you pick WashU?
WashU is a top medical school, and houses one of the best neuroscience and Alzheimer's Disease research centers in the world. This, in addition to a renowned engineering program, drove me to pick WashU for my studies.
What is your favorite thing about St. Louis?
Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the US, and is by far my most favorite thing about St. louis. It turns so pretty during the fall. Furthermore, sledding on Art Hill when it snows is unlike anything I've ever experienced.
What advice would you give to a new student?
I think it's important to learn about and explore the university and the city as much as possible, because many students graduate without ever venturing beyond the campus. Opportunities for exploration diminish over time, and these experiences will eventually be missed.
What campus activities or groups would you recommend to a new student?
The Graduate and Professional Student Council; Association for Graduate Engineering Students; events by ethnic groups like UMANG; Events at the Edison Theatre and Graham Chapel.
What are your plans for the future?
After graduation, my goal is work in industry for a few years, before returning to pursue doctoral research in computational neuroscience or related field.
