Degree pursuing: PhD in Systems Science & Mathematics

Where did you complete your undergraduate degree?
Coimbatore Institute of Technology

Please provide your lab and description of research.
I am working at Kantaros Lab on verifiable navigation of robots in uncertain environment.

What played into your decision to get a graduate engineering degree?
I wanted to learn more about robotics and partake in cutting-edge research in this field. A PhD degree is the best way to do this.

Why did you pick WashU?
I was interested in the collaborative nature of the research in WashU. Another reason is the location of the university in a midwest city, making it easy for me to live comfortably in a student's salary.

What is your favorite thing about St. Louis?
My most favorite thing about St. Louis is the food scene, specially on the Delmar Loop. Another is the community that I am a part of.

What advice would you give to a new student?
I would ask them to come here because it is a really good city to stay in, the university is one of the best in the world, and you get to collaborate with people from different fields. This combination is not something that you can come across in every university.

What campus activities or groups would you recommend to a new student?
I would recommend the students to attend the orientation and decide what clubs they want to be a part of, as everyone has their own interests.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan to get into academia or R&D. I am looking to have a career in robotics research.
