Where did you complete your undergraduate degree?
Duke University
Please provide your lab and a description of research.
I work in Dr. Daniel Giammar's lab. We investigate chemical reactions affecting the fate and transport of heavy metals, radionuclides, and other inorganic contaminants in natural and engineered aquatic systems.
What played into your decision to get a graduate degree?
I wish to keep doing environmental research that is meaningful and impactful. PhD is a great opportunity for me to dive in and invest myself on projects that can improve people's lives.
Why did you pick WashU?
WashU is well-known for its environmental engineering program. Faculty are well-established with a lot of research collaboration opportunities across campus, city and greater community.
What is your favorite thing about St. Louis?
I like the Forest Park. A lot of events... symphony concert, hot balloon festivals... You can always find something to do whenever throughout the year. I also like the free Art Museum with their exhibitions.
What advice would you give to a new student?
Engage in events and meet more people.

What are your plans for the future?
Continuing environmental research though I am not sure where that would be specifically.
