Research

Hong Hu’s research lies in the fields of statistical signal processing and machine learning. He focuses on developing theoretical foundations for algorithms that extract information from high-dimensional data. His work also aims to facilitate principled designs of these high-dimensional information processing algorithms in real applications.

Biography

Hong Hu is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering and the Department of Statistics and Data Science. Before joining Washington University in St. Louis in 2024, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Statistics at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his PhD in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University in 2021 and BE from Tsinghua University in 2015.
