ASTM honors Jerina for symposium leadership
Senior Professor Ken Jerina received an award of appreciation for his leadership in chairing a national symposium
Ken Jerina, senior professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science at Washington University in St. Louis, has been recognized for his work leading the Fourth Symposium on Fatigue and Fracture of Metallic Medical Materials and Devices.
The American Society for Testing and Materials International (ASTM) presented Jerina with an award of appreciation following the symposium, which was held in May 2018 in San Diego. The event aimed to provide presentations on fatigue and fracture mechanics principles involved in metallic medical materials and devices.
Jerina has previously been recognized by ASTM International. In 2017, the organization awarded him the Coffin-Manson Fatigue Achievement Award, which recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of fatigue of material.
